MANAGEMENT OF THE “TREE RISK”

Objective: assessment of the damage that a tree fall can cause, in order to propose mitigation interventions.
Our technicians are experts in the main risk assessment methodologies (QTRA and ARETE ‘) and in their application on large numbers of trees.

To activate effective management of tree risk, it is necessary to:

  • Collection of qualitative data on the trees under investigation;
  • Evaluation of the target eventually hit and its value;
  • Analysis and evaluation of the danger of each tree;
  • Calculation and evaluation of the value of the tree, which is made up of different values, such as aesthetic, ornamental and ecosystem benefits;
  • Comparison between the value of the tree and any risk mitigation costs.

Agri 2000 Net technicians are applying the different risk assessment methodologies in some large Italian cities.

V.I.S.A. Integrated assessment of tree stability

A combination of integrated visual methods and tools which permit a judgement on the safety of an entire avenue of trees to be expressed.

The use of special tools is integrated with the study of climatic elements (ie: wind) which have a direct influence on the static of plants.

Characteristics of the service:

  • Integration of the most innovative methodologies to assess stability
  • Application of this methodology in different case studies
  • Contextualization of the study in the specific environment with its particular climatic conditions

Street up®

Objectives: To assess the benefits of substituting an avenue of trees through the analysis of management costs, environmental benefits, quality and safety

This service involves the comparison between the characteristics of the existing trees with new trees considering the following parameters:

  • aesthetic quality
  • physiological quality
  • environmental function (capturing of CO2)
  • safety
  • analysis of economic-financial costs

Characteristics of the service:

  • Interdisciplinary competence (plant health, agronomic, economic) integrated in order to carry out the service
  • Unique original method protected by copyright
  • Many decades of experience in the management of public green

The processed data are indispensable, providing valid technical/scientific support in decisions taken by public administrations and for a suitably informed communication with citizens regarding a possible substitution of trees. In fact local authorities have encountered difficulties in felling trees due to a lack of objective data to present to citizens, who are particularly sensitive to these issues.

Tree Census

Objective: Survey of the consistency of assets under management, collection of quantitative and qualitative data on the characteristics of objects (trees, shrubs, furnishings, etc.) and their location on the territory.

Characteristics of the service:

  • Reporting on the quality of greenery based on phytosanitary and aesthetic parameters
  • Survey of green objects with different instruments: GPS (RTK), topographic instruments, surveys from aerial photos and orthophotos
  • Use of diversified IT tools for the management of data and cartography, according to the customer’s needs.
